The FBI concluded its investigation into the death of Gabby Petito. Brian Laundrie, the driver of the car that struck Petito, has claimed responsibility for her death,According to his notebook,
This is not Laundrie’s first time in trouble with law enforcement. He was previously arrested for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana in 2007 and 2013 respectively.
On September 19, Petito’s remaining parts were found at Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. A post-mortem examination observed she was killed by manual strangulation. Following a month of theory around Laundrie’s whereabouts and a drawn-out search of the region around his Florida home, his skeletal remaining parts were found in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park on October 20. On November 23, it was declared that Laundrie passed on because of a self-caused discharge twisted to the head. The FBI later observed that Laundrie confessed to killing Petito in his notebook.
The Petito case acquired public consideration because of the couple’s online media action, police body camera video film, 9-1-1 crisis dispatch call accounts, and observer accounts.
