Chris Woakes and Mark Wood drag England back into Ashes

Chris Woakes who played a crucial winning knock of 32 not out and Mark Wood who made 16 and took 5 wickets in the first innings and 2 wickets in the second innings made sure England was on the winning side, Chris Woaks took 3 wickets in the first innings and 3 wickets in the second innings.

The third Ashes Test match between England and Australia was played at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds, England from 5 to 9 July 2023. England won the match by three wickets to keep the series alive.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 368 all out.

In reply, England were bowled out for 237.

Australia then set England a target of 251 to win. England was in trouble at 171 for 6, but Harry Brook (75) helped England near the line, in the end, it is Chris Woakes and Markwood finished the match.

The victory was England’s first win over Australia at Headingley since 2001. It also kept the Ashes series alive, with Australia leading 2-1.

The fourth Ashes Test match will be played at Old Trafford in Manchester from 19 to 23 July 2023.
