Elton John bid farewell to his fans on Saturday night, July 8, 2023
With his final concert on the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in Stockholm, Sweden. The tour, which began in 2018, was the highest-grossing in Billboard Boxscore history, and it has now become the first tour ever to make more than $900 million.
Elton John, 75, said that he was retiring from touring so that he could spend more time with his family. “I need to dedicate more time to raising my children,” he said in 2018.
The concert in Stockholm was a star-studded affair, with appearances by David Furnish, David Beckham, and Stevie Wonder. John performed a two-hour set that included some of his biggest hits, such as “Rocket Man” “Tiny Dancer” and “Candle in the Wind“
At the end of the concert, John thanked his fans for their support over the years. “This is not goodbye,” he said. “This is just a thank you.”
Elton John’s retirement from touring marks the end of an era in music. He has been one of the most popular and influential musicians of the past 50 years, and his music has touched the lives of millions of people around the world.
