India won their ninth SAFF Championship title after beating Kuwait in penalties 5-4 in the final match.

India beat Kuwait 5-4 on penalties after the match was drawn 1-1 in regulation time and extra time to win the Championship 2023 title.
Goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu saved a crucial penalty kick in the summit clash to help India beat Kuwait 5-4 in the shootout and clinch the SAFF Championships title for the ninth time.
