Jawan: Vijay Setupathi Look
Jawan is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller film co-written and directed by Atlee
Atlee’s first Hindi film. It is produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone (billed as a special appearance), Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.
Principal photography commenced in September 2021 with filming taking place in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan, and Aurangabad. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 7 September 2023 in Hindi along with dubbed versions of Tamil and Telugu languages.
The film is said to be a high-octane action thriller that follows the story of a man who is driven by a personal vendetta to rectify the wrongs in society while keeping a promise made years ago. He comes up against a monstrous outlaw with no fear, who’s caused extreme suffering to many.
The film has been inspired by a number of classic Indian action films, including Don, Deewar, and Sholay. It is also said to have some elements of the Spanish television series Money Heist.
Jawan is expected to be a major commercial success and is likely to be one of the biggest releases of the year. It will be a test for Shah Rukh Khan, who has been away from the big screen for four years. The film will also be a major challenge for Atlee, who is making his Hindi film debut.
It looks like it will be a great action thriller with a lot of potential.
