Single Screen Movie theaters in Telangana took a break
For 10 days in May this year (2024) due to several reasons:
- Lack of Big Releases: No major Telugu or Hindi films were released during this time, leading to low audience turnout.
- Financial Losses: Single-screen theaters struggled to cover their daily expenses without big-budget movies to draw crowds.
- Competition: The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season and recently concluded national elections likely diverted some audience attention away from theaters.
450 single screen Movie Theaters are taking break, owners hoped that by taking a break, they could minimize losses and reopen with a fresh slate of films like “Love Me” or “Gangs of Godavari” are scheduled for release later in May.
