Johnny Depp directs Al Pacino in the biopic Modi

According to Johnny Depp, Al Pacino has agreed to appear in Depp’s second film as director, a biopic about the artist Amedeo Modigliani.

In Modi, an adaptation of a play by Dennis McIntyre, Pacino plays Maurice Gangnat (whose portrait was painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1916). An Italian actor named Riccardo Scamarcio will portray the title role, while a French actor named Pierre Niney will portray Maurice Utrillo. It will be Depp’s first film as director since The Brave, released in 1997, and will be filmed in Budapest, Hungary.

The film’s producers have stated that Modi “follows a chaotic series of events throughout war-torn Paris in 1916″, during which Modigliani is “on the run from the police [and] his desire to end his career and leave the city is dismissed by fellow Bohemians: French artist Maurice Utrillo, the Belarusian-born Chaïm Soutine and English muse Beatrice Hastings. Modi is confronted with a collector who could drastically alter his life, despite the advice of his Polish friend and dealer Léopold Zborowski.”

Upcoming Film Modi has no relation with Narendra Modi

There is no Hollywood movie about Narendra Modi. There is a Bollywood movie called PM Narendra Modi, which was released in 2019. The movie stars Vivek Oberoi as Modi and tells the story of his life from his early days to his election as Prime Minister of India. The movie was a box office success, but it was also controversial. Some people criticized the movie for being too flattering to Modi, while others praised it for its historical accuracy.
