Harry Kane had a dream debut for Bayern Munich on Friday, August 2023
Scoring and assisting in a 4-0 win over Werder Bremen. The England captain scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 74th minute, firing a low shot into the bottom corner after being set up by Alphonso Davies. He had earlier set up Leroy Sane for the opening goal in the fourth minute.
It was a perfect start for Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in a £100 million deal earlier this month. The 30-year-old has been one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League in recent years, scoring 241 goals in 386 appearances for Spurs. He is expected to be a key player for Bayern as they look to defend their Bundesliga title and challenge for the Champions League.
Kane’s debut was also a boost for Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, who was under pressure after his side’s 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the DFL Supercup last weekend. The win over Bremen will give Nagelsmann some much-needed confidence as he prepares for the start of the Bundesliga season.
Kane said after the game that he was “very happy” to be at Bayern and that he was looking forward to competing at the highest level. “This is a big club with a lot of history,” he said. “I’m excited to be here and I’m looking forward to helping the team win trophies.”
It remains to be seen whether Kane can replicate his goalscoring form in the Bundesliga. The German league is known for its physical defending and it will be a challenge for Kane to adapt to the new style of play. However, he is a world-class striker and he has the ability to succeed at any level.
Harry Kane’s dream debut is a good start for him at Bayern. He will be hoping to continue his goalscoring form in the coming weeks and months and help the club achieve their goals.
