Maya Jama is a British radio and television presenter. She was born in Bristol, England, to Somali parents. Jama began her career in 2012 as a presenter on Rinse FM. She then moved to MTV UK, where she hosted several shows, including The Wrap-Up and Maya Jama’s Guide to the End of the World.
In 2017, Jama began hosting the UK version of the dating show Love Island. She has also hosted the BBC’s Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer and the Channel 4 show The Circle.
Jama is a popular figure on social media, with over 13 million followers on Instagram. She is known for her fashion sense and her work as an advocate for mental health awareness.
In 2022, Jama was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.
