Collective consciousness helped TDP, Pawan Kalyan Janasena with BJP win Andhra Pradesh Elections 2024
Have you ever wondered what makes entire societies shift their vote one election to the next? Polls and pundits often miss the mark, leaving us scratching our heads. But what if there’s a deeper pulse, a collective consciousness, influencing elections? In this blog, we’ll dive into this fascinating concept and explore its potential role in shaping election outcomes.
The term has two main interpretations:
- Shared social understanding: This concept, developed by sociologist Émile Durkheim, refers to the set of shared beliefs, ideas, and morals that bind a group of people together. This includes things like common sense, social norms, and cultural values. It’s like an unwritten rulebook that shapes how people behave and interact within a society.
- Universal unconscious mind: This idea, put forth by psychologist Carl Jung, is a bit more far-out. Jung proposed a deeper level of collective consciousness, a kind of shared unconscious mind that transcends cultures and time. This unconscious mind would contain universal human experiences and symbols, like archetypes (images and themes that appear across cultures in myths and dreams).
So, this term can refer to the things that connect us as a society or a species on a deeper level.
Often people share same similar thoughts and biases subconsciously , however governments and society prevents them expressing freely, this makes them predict their election wins in a wrong way.
The elections in 2024 for Andhra Pradesh are a good example, because of the confusion it created by social media and too many people sharing their predictions in TV news debates and in media.
At last common man prevailed and gave a major win for the opposition.
